There is a test RSS feed that works with Thunderbird if you use the following address:
bb/rss.php
It can be customised as follows:
## For URL's the following arguments may be optionally passed (as applicable):
##
## f=x - forum id. Use data only from this forum to output RSS.
## t=1 - only new topics (first messages in topic). Default - 0.
## c=x - feed items count. If omitted, the value of DEFAULT_ITEMS constant (defined in mod's code) will be used. Admin can limit the maximal possible value of x by setting MAX_ITEMS constant at the beginning of mod's code.
## topic=x - view topic 'x' only
## nolimit - turn off "If-Modified-Since" record limit (by default)
## styled - use XSLT style for RSS feed
## atom - generate atom 0.3 feed instead of rss 2.0
## Examples of Usage and Syntax:
## rss.php
## Last 25 or less messages from public forums
## Last 25 records from allowed forums in Atom 0.3 format
I am no expert when it comes to RSS but if you have problems with this let me know.

I thought I would put a short note here on how to subscribe to this sites RSS feed using Thunderbird (the excellent Mozilla email client). It is an easy way to stay in touch with what is going on here.
1. Top Menu: File >> New >> Account
2. pick RSS News & Blogs
3. Give the account a name (it wil be for all your RSS feeds not just this board).
4. The account will appear in your folders list - click on it.
5. Click 'view settings for this account'.
6. Fill in how often you want to check for new content.
7. Click Manage Subscriptions >> Add
8. Give it the RSS URL with any control parameters you want included.
That's it. Takes a lot longer to describe than it does to do it.

Works perfectly on HTC Desire HD, I'm using the free "Sparse rss" -app from the AndroidMarket. I simply create a new feed, have not experimented with the options yet.
