Calling on custom photoshop actions from the command line

I'm working on improving my system for processing images, and I'd like to be able to integrate running photoshop actions into the command line script I'm building. Has anyone had experience with this?

Much like going into bridge and telling photoshop to process the images in a selected folder. I would like to use command line to inform photoshop of what images to process.
