Script Listener Bug

Post by ddbell »

I just wanted to share something I learned about the script listener for CS4 and CS5 in Windows. I've noticed that for CS4/CS5, the script listener wasn't recording as many things as CS3 was recording. This has been frustrating me for a long time now.

I just figured out that it will record everything when Adobe Extend Script is not running. As soon as I open Adobe Extend Script it then stops recording many of the items. Although closing and opening AES is not desirable when creating scripts, at least the CS5 script listener is recording everything for me now.

Yes, I have noticed that too. It only happens if Photoshop is the target app in ESTK and a script as been run at least once. On my system it also effect recording an action. If ESKT is opened and has run a script in Photoshop with I record a new action I get a bunch of steps automatically created that say 'scripts'.

Thanks, that's good to know. Now I don't need to close ETSK. Also, it seems that just unlinking the connection from ESTK works as well.
