Attaching properties to files or layers.

Are there any way i can attach "hidden" properties to a document or to a layer that can be embeded in the psd file ?

Till now the only way i figured out hot do do that is by naming a LayerSet with my properties and than play with the LayerSet string name to get them back.

You can use per layer metadata if you are using Photoshop CS4 or better. As an example see...
