Mine can handle elements that are spaced by just a single pixel gap.
If there is an island of transparency inside a boundary of pixels, pfaffenbichler's script incorrectly creates an extra layer.
If neither of these apply to you, it doesn't matter which you use. The only other thing is that I combined everything into a single history state so the history isn't cluttered.
