opening an flat version of a psd with a script

Post by jamesrmac »

I recently found out about a feature of Photoshop that allows you to open a flat version of a psd by holding alt and shift while opening an image. This seems to be pretty fast (is uses the flat version embedded in the image when maximum compatibility is turned on). I would love to figure out how to script this functionality, as i have several scripts that open a layered psd and flatten it before proceeding, and I think it would be much faster if the doc was already flat when opened.

Anyone ever played with this in scripts? It does not get recorded in an action or script listener in cs6. Appreciate the read, let me know if you have any ideas.
