adding text to a sequential set of tif images

I am looking for a script that I can run within a current action. the script has to add text to images in sequential order,for example from a column of selected numbers (00000_0020_001_0000000 - 00000_0020_100_0000000) from a spreadsheet or a list of numbers from a text file, then add the text to a selected folder containing tif images that would title them in order from the spreadsheet text column. I don't know if this is possible. I found a script that may do the job, but it converts the tif into a jpeg and only gives me three numbers in the output image(I need at least 16 numbers)and maintain the TIF extension . I will upload a zip file of the script. I am willing to learn to make the necessary changes to the script ... if someone could help. I would really appreciate any help modifying the script

You may need to zip the script. The forum software restricts upload to only a few file extensions - zip being one of the ones allowed.
