Animation Timeline / Select layer under playhead

Post by wodzgn »

Hi everyone, have been using PS extensively for animation. Photoshop has amazing drawing tools, better than any other 2d animation program out there. However and because it's originally not an animation program i have created an extensive set of action to improve workflow. Things like rolling and flipping on 1's and 2's or any other exposure value that i i need. Creating layers and trimming them to certain exposures, and making drawings ready to cleanup/ ink and paint. The one thing that i haven't found is, that photoshop does not automatically make the layer under the playhead / scrubber the active layer. Currently i have to stop, and scroll through the layers palette to select the layer where the timeline scrubber is at. I have been reading that Adobe hasn't included that many commands to access the timeline module, if any. Is there a way to script photoshop into selecting the layer under the playhead as current selected layer? Thanks!
