Debugging flash running in Photoshop?

I have a ScriptUI dialog containing a SWF and would like to debug the actionscript associated with it while it is running in Photoshop. I've done quite a bit of searching for examples of others doing this, but based on what I've found I'm still left wondering if this is even possible. I've tried a remote debug session from Flash Professional, but that never gets past "Waiting for Player to connect...". That requires the debug flash player to work, which I've installed, but to be honest I have no idea if that affects how Photoshop plays flash at all. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
