Running PS from Visual Basic

Post by BuckeyeFan »

Ok, so I'm just testing the waters for running a PS script from an outside program.
I created a quick form in VS 2010 with button to open photoshop. I used Shell ("C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe")
When I run the program and click my button, I see the PS splash screen and it seems to load up. I then see my Photoshop panels (only the ones not docked), but no actual PS window. I have to kill the process to close PS. I tried it several times with the same result. If I open PS normally it opens just fine. Is there something I need to know about opening PS via the Shell command?

secondly, after I get PS to open I want to try an pass a script to it. How do I pass a javascript to PS in Visual Studio.

thanks.
