CS5 and javascript - any problems likely?

Post by david »

I use Photoshop professionally, and develop actions, scripts, and panels to improve my own workflow, and about a dozen coworkers use some of them.

I would hardly call myself a developer, though. My only experience with scripting outside Photoshop was some Actionscript several years ago.

At the very least, I'd need a trial to see if it is something that would be useful to me.

I think Adobe should consider easily accessible development tools (for extending other Adobe products) to be an easy way to get other developers to work for them for free. I made a panel for setting layer blending modes and released it for free, increasing the value of Photoshop for other users.

I need all the handholding I can get, so the "(for hardy souls)" option isn't great for me.

I've sent an email to Adobe's Roger Risdal, as Adrian OLenskie suggested me in the CS SDK forum here.

I hope that a freelance developer may avoid the Adobe Enterprise Developer Program ($ 1.495), and stick with the cheaper Adobe Solutions Partner Program. As soon as Roger will answer me, I'll tell you.

Anyway it's a bit disappointing...
Cheers,

UPDATE:
June 9, still got no answer from Mr. Risdal...
