Adobe Bridge File Info

Post by deoson »

Hello, I'm not sure if this is ther right forum or not. I'm looking to find out if when you edit xmp data on a photo in bridge and hit apply.... if it recompresses the image... I'm guessing it wouldn't but i need to make sure. If i'm in the wrong place please advise on where I could find this information.

Thanks,
Dennison

I can't give you an offical answer. But there is no reason that it should. If the file has been saved by photoshop at least once, then all that is required is to overwrite the metadata tag.

If it hasn't, then the xmp and photoshop tags need to be added to the file header.

In either case only the header needs to be edited. There is no advantage to decompressing the image as that data will remain unchanged.
