Select specific tool?

Anyone, especially newbies, asking for help with Photoshop Scripting and Photoshop Automation - as opposed to those contributing to discussion about an aspect of Photoshop Scripting

Select specific tool?

Post by Stefanius »

Hello,

Photoshop only allows me to use A till Z as keyboard shortcuts for tools (e.g. pencil, eraser).
Is it possible to select tools via Scripts?
E.g. script 1 selects the protocol pencil, script 2 selects the background eraser.

Then I assign custom keyboard shortcuts to each script.
Inside of the photoshop-javascript-ref-2020.pdf I didn't find all tools, which confused me...

P.S.
I already tried "hacking" the "C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2020\Adobe Photoshop 2020 Settings\Keyboard Shortcuts.psp", but it didn't work.
Photoshop shows my custom keyboard combo (e.g. Alt+Ctrl+Y), but nothing happens when pressing the combo.

Thank you for any help!
