InDesign *.pdf Inspector Panel…

Postby larsen67 » Mon Aug 29, 2011 9:08 pm

An InDesign PDF Inspector, along the same lines as my other Inspector Panels… After loading you should have the following info show in the panel:

1. The File name… (pretty self-evident)
2. Last Modified… (ditto this)
3. Your PDF Version… (just the main PDF standard)
4. PDF Media Box… (in 'mm' units for now and based on first spread only)
5. PDF Trim Box… (ditto this)
6. PDF Bleed Box… (ditto this)
7. PDF Art Box… (this may be redundant in my tests it's always as TRIM)
8. The Spread Count…
9. The Page Count…
10. The Layer Count… (this is top level layers only, the ones that make it to PDF OCG's minus the default 'grids & guides')

As per the screenshot image:

Only had InDesign CS5 files to test this with…

Unzip the following file…
InDesign_PDF_TIP.jsxbin.zip

Interesting Script, thanks for sharing.

Could it also process different TrimBoxes in one file?

Sorry hadn't noticed a post down here… Only looking at the top 2 forums… Doh! I purposely tried to keep things to specific *.pdf creators as there are various ways they can store this info… Yes it is possible using regexp with global to get all the boxes… AI uses them all inside out compared to ID with so many possible creators of PDF it could become difficult to get a universal solution thou… Did I export this script can't remember?
