Editting an ACTION step

Post by ellen »

Newbie here -

I have an Action script that I downloaded, but one of the steps has a SAVE command to ADOBE/PS7 - -I need to change it to ADOBE/PS.

I have been unable to figure out how to edit an Action command line like this and resave as the new action file?
I am new to all this, I am sure it is simple and I will kick myself!

Any help appreciated.

Open a doc that you want to save to ADOBE/PS
Open the Action Set/Action
Select/highight the Save step
Hit the Record button
Perform your Save to ADOBE/PS
Hit the Stop button

You now have an Action with two Save steps.
In the left hand column there are Checks that indicate whether or not a specific step is to be executed.
Turn on the Save step that you want to use and turn off the Save step that you don't want.

The best tutorial around for Actions can be found at http://atncentral.com/tutorials.htm. The first in the list is the Action tutorial I use as my primary reference.
